Congratulations to our Cross Country medal winners last Thursday at Osage City. Although the weather was extremely cold AJ placed 15th in the Varsity Boys race and Kyplee placed 3rd in the Middle School Girls race. Congratulations!
Monday’s JV Football game vs. SE of Saline has been cancelled due to injuries!
On 10/8/19, MV Stuco participated in their league workshop at Camp Wood YMCA in Chase County. A lot of fun was to be had as the students learned about verbal/non-verbal communication & their importance while completing team based events.
Tonight is 8th Grade Recognition Night for Volleyball and Football. We will recognize the VB 8th graders immediately following the first match and the FB 8th graders before the game at 6:15. Only the students will line up to be recognized. Good Luck Vikes!

Despite the windy day, 6th graders spent an hour with Pam Rindt attempting to catch and tag some Monarch Butterflies. We successfully caught and tagged one female. What a fun experience! Thanks Mrs. Rindt for taking some time to help us explore outside the walls of Mission Valley Elementary.

*Please respect the course by staying off tee boxes, greens and fairways as much as possible.

*No spikes will be worn as runners will cross a sheet metal bridge and several concrete cart paths.

Anti-Bullying Awareness Week begins 10/7-10/11/2019. Students are working on Viking SAGA lessons themed "Choose Peace". An inter-class competition pitting the Srs vs Jrs, So. vs Fr, & 8th vs. 7th starts on 10/7/19 & the winners announced on Friday. A special reward 4 winners!

PSAT/NMSQT assessment will take place on 10/16 from 8:15-12 pm; Costs $16 & it's a great tool to prepare for the ACT/SAT. A high score could qualify you for the NMSQT scholarships. Parents should encourage their So, Jr, & Sr's to sign up, only 45 slots available!
"Apply KS!" is tomorrow! 1:56 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Seniors & juniors who are applying to vo-tech, colleges, or universities should show up &, learn about the college application process, win college swag, & apply! FYI: Bring a credit/debit card to pay for application fees if needed.
JH FB plays @ 3:45 today at Emporia MS (2300 Graphics Arts Rd). From Hwy. 99, take I-35 S. to Exit 128. Head North to last stop light @ W 24th Ave. & turn left for 0.1 miles to MS entrance. You will walk up long hill to the field (seating is limited so bring lawn chairs).
