There was a change to the JH track meet at Burlingame on Thursday and it will be starting at 10:00, not 11:00 as previously listed.

We have your Friday night entertainment covered this week! Please join us this Friday night April 28th for our annual Mission Valley Spring Carnival!
Mission Valley Jr/Sr High School has planned our community service day and FFA Highway cleanup day for this Friday, April 28th. We are keeping an eye on the weather and will make a decision on Thursday morning if we need to reschedule due to forecasted rain.
If we do keep these events as scheduled please make sure your 7th-12th grade student dresses accordingly as it might be chilly in the morning and they will be outside working at the school as well as all three of our surrounding communities.
We have another day with a lot of activities.
Baseball is at Hummer Sports Park (North Field) vs St Marys.
Softball is at Harveyville vs St Marys.
There should be concessions available at both places and both games start at 4:00.
HS track is at Silver Lake starting at 3:00.

Here is some information about a sports physical clinic offered by Cotton O'Neil. Physicals for next year can be done anytime beginning May 1st. Please make sure you use the new physical forms. They should be available late this month.

Viking Family---Today was the day of the Groundbreaking Ceremony at Mission Valley to kick off construction of the facility projects. Thank you to everyone who helped make today a great day in VIKING COUNTRY. A shout out to all the great students, patrons, parents, and staff. In addition thank-you to Senator Brenda Dietrich in taking time to speak to those in attendance, and thank you to BHS Construction and HTK Architects for all of their dedication and services provided to the district. The upgrades, renovations, and new construction provided by these facility projects will continue to move the district forward well into the future.

MV's very own K-12 Art Teacher experienced a lofty trip w/the help of the Kansas Army National Guard. Mrs. Palmquist caught a 'lift' on a UH-60 Blackhawk. The event was sponsored by the National Guard as the 'Blackhawk Orientation Flight' for educators. #MVFlyingPaintBrush
Families & community member are invited to attend an information gathering meeting about childcare in the MV area on Thursday, April 20th @ 6 pm. The meeting will be held in the elementary cafeteria. We would love your input and ideas!

Our HS science classes had a great experience on their field trip to Hutchinson while visitng the Cosmosphere and salt mines.
The Mission Valley High School football coaches would like to invite any kid that will be in 3rd grade - 6th grade next year to the youth football camp. This camp is not only for MV students, any kid in that age group can attend. The flyers will be sent home with MV students and more copies can be picked up in the elementary school office. Please help spread the word!

MV received the honor of being named the Kansas FCCLA Community of the Year.
MV alum Kori Bisnett was named an Honorary Member for her dedication to the continued success of our program.
Sophomore Ava Gustin was installed as the new state president and was awarded the District D Member of the Year award.
