
Tonight, our HS volleyball team plays Wabaunsee. It will be our last home varsity matches and also senior night.
All matches will be played on one court (varsity, JV, varsity) starting at 5:00 pm.

MV Jr/Sr High Medal of Honor lesson consisted of a class building exercise to strengthen the MV culture of friendship & cooperation, and then proceeded to teach the students about the Medal of Honor recipient, Hershel Williams, USMC, WWII (Pacific), & Citizen Honors Focus on Mr. David Bryan. The lesson was about 'individual leadership' and how the students define leadership, identify leadership traits, and discuss how those leadership traits can and do exist here at Mission Valley.




Seniors & their Parents/Guardians:
Mission Valley will be hosting ApplyKS day tomorrow on October 8, 2024 from 1pm-3:30pm. The students can create their FSAID, learn more about the FAFSA, and start applying for colleges, universities, employers, and/or the military. WE HIGHLY ENCOURAGE THAT THE PARENTS ATTEND THIS EVENT.
This date coincides with the Kansas Apply Free Days from October 7th-9th, 2024. The Kansas State University and the University of Kansas Financial Aid Office has representatives on-site to answer any questions the students/parents may have about the upcoming FAFSA. KU will be providing a presentation to all in attendance HIGHLIGHTING THE NEW CHANGES ABOUT THE FAFSA THAT BECOMES ACTIVE ON 12/1/2024.
Mr. Jim MacGregor, the Wabaunsee County Commissioner (District #1) and Retired Colonel, U.S. Army, is our guest speaker for this event.
The following college admission rep's will be on-site, as well, to help answer any application or general questions: Allen Community College, Kansas State University, University of Kansas, and Emporia State University. The U.S. Air Force, KS Air National Guard, and U.S. Army will be on-site to speak about their respected branches, as well as how they can assist seniors with college/career readiness.

As ApplyKS approaches (10/8/2024), MV will highlight a teacher/faculty member a day with their words of wisdom in regards to this annual event: Mrs. Hancock - “I didn't want to live in my small town anymore, and Manhattan was just big enough to suit me. College was the only way to get the career that I wanted."

Mission Valley FFA hosted the annual Elementary Tracking With Ag Day. This day allows high school students to expose the agriculture industry to younger students. There were over 70 high schoolers that played a part in making this happen.

Here is some information about the Little Vikings Cheer Clinic tonight.
Please have your child in the south end zone at 6:45 pm on Friday, October 4th.
The theme for the game is “Pink Out”. They will need to wear their pink shirt, black bottoms, tennis shoes and pink bow (We will pass out their poms at the game so no one forgets theirs).
PreK-2nd grade will cheer during the first quarter.
3rd-6th grade will cheer during the 2nd quarter.
We will have seats reserved for the kids when they are not cheering.
You can pick up your cheerleader/yell leader at halftime. We must see you pick up your child before taking them.

Today is another High Five Friday! We play Rossville tonight at 7:00.
FCCLA is having a Walking Taco Meal (see flyer).
