May 10th and 11th High School Finals Schedule Information
If your child has all A's in their classes, no unexcused absences, no suspensions, and 3 tardies or less to first hour than they do not have to attend school on May 10th or 11th for finals.
Students with a grade of D or F must be at school all day on May 10th-11th.
If they have met all of the above requirements but do not have an A in every class than they only have to attend school for those classes they do not have an A in for finals.
Please email or call the office in order to give your student permission to come and go from school as needed on May 10th-11th if they meet these requirements.
May 12th is our last day of school and students need to be here in order to complete our summer check-out process.
We will also be having a talent show and Karaoke Contest on the morning of May 12th prior to checkout.
JH students will be in school all day, with no exemptions.

Be sure to come out tonight and support our 1st annual Fine Arts Night. Admission is $5/adult and $3/student. There will be plenty of baked goods for sale as well! All proceeds will go toward stage sound and lighting upgrades.

Friday, May 12th: 8th Grade Promotion at 7pm. Doors open at 6pm please use the elementary entrance into the main gym
Saturday, May 13th: Senior Parade leaving MVHS at 9am and traveling to Dover via K-4 then into Harveyville and ending in Eskridge.
Sunday, May 14th: HS Graduation 2pm. Doors open at 1pm. Please use the elementary entrance into the main gym.

On Sunday May 7th Corbett Hinck was celebrated for being Mission Valley's Governor Scholar at the Kansas Governor Scholar Ceremony! Great job Corbett!
The baseball team will travel to Soden's Grove to take on Chase County today starting at 4:00 pm. Our seniors will be recognized between games.

MVHS hosted our last career speaker this year, our very own superintendent & Mission Valley Alumni, Mr. Bill Clark. Mr. Clark had a large group of students that learned about how to find a career & the different types of careers within education. #MVcareers #MVfutures #MVoptions
The 6th graders did their "Viking Village" today from 1:15-3:00. They had to design a project with advertising and they worked on them for two weeks leading up to today.

Option 1: Kindergarten Camp
Students attend July 31-Aug 3; 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM
Parents attend Wed, Aug 2 from 8:30-10:00 AM
The purpose of this camp is for our new Kindergarten kids to have an opportunity to adjust to school life before the building fills with all students.
Option 2: Kindergarten Round Up
Students & parents attend Wed, Aug 2; 1:00-2:30 PM
The purpose of this time is for students and parents to have a brief introduction to our building and staff.

The Senior Care Center is hosting a new display of pencil drawings by many Intro to Art students. The subject matter is local historical buildings from Wabaunsee County. Come check out some talented young artists.

Tonight we ejoyed celebrating all of the wonderful accomplishments our Mission Valley FCCLA Chapter completed this school year.
There is still time for students that have completed grades 6th - 8th this school year to register to attend LEAPES STEM CAMP. Camp will run Mon-Thurs from 9 am to 12 pm. Monday, the JH and HS will be celebrating those that completed all their work during Viking Hour. (See attached flyer)
Our Mission Valley 2023 senior class will be participating in the senior parade again this year. The parade will take place on Saturday, May 13th starting around 9am. We will travel from MVHS to K-4 into Dover, followed by Harveyville, and we will finish by traveling through Eskridge back to MVHS. In the past, this has taken roughly 1.5 hours. We look forward to seeing you all cheer on our seniors along the route! GO VIKINGS!

MV 7th graders got to take their field trip to West Ridge lanes today. They bowled for 2 hours, ate a lot of concession food, played video games, ate ice cream, & then spent some time @ Auburn park before returning to MV. The kids had a blast & were good MV ambassadors. #MVproud
